Superhero Friday at David Lloyd Leisure!

We were in Raynes Park, South London last week to cover the launch of David Lloyd Leisure’s new charity partnership with Together for Short Lives.  The charity is dedicated to supporting children with life threatening and life limiting conditions and will be working with David Lloyd Leisure on events and activities over the next year. David Lloyd Leisure invited local schoolchildren and ‘DL Kids’ members down to celebrate the launch, which took place on ‘Superhero Friday’ during Children’s Hospice Week. Both the children and tennis coaches were encouraged to dress as superheroes and while the coaches went with classics such as Batman and Ironman, the children thought slightly outside the box, with appearances from James Bond, Steven Gerrard and Little Mix. Also showing their support for the cause (and displaying ‘varied’ tennis skills) were Olympic and Paralympic gold medallists Zac Purchase and Sophie Christiansen and former javelin world record holder, Steve Backley. Our cameras were on hand to capture the entire event and to interview the Olympic stars and charity representatives. It was great to find out more about the work of Together for Short Lives and we wish them all the best for the new partnership! Take a look at the video below to find out more.
