Tired of Zoom calls? Somersault propel Virtual Event to a new level

When Global B2B Technology brand Console Connect decided to participate in one of their industry’s flagship annual events, they asked Somersault to explore how best to stand out at a Virtual Event.

Like many events that have taken place in 2020, speakers and sponsors have had to overcome the restrictions around a lack of face to face and physical opportunities. Whilst Zoom calls and video conferencing keeps us engaged with our colleagues and teams, it’s become pretty critical for brands to make more of an effort to truly engage audiences attending Virtual Events.

With interaction levels dropping though the floor for many exhibitors, existing customers and new prospects are demanding more from presenters. Despite the post-pandemic challenges we all face, making do when it comes to participating and presenting at a Virtual Event is clearly no longer acceptable. Only those making the effort to stand out and present more professionally are seeing the engagement and interactivity levels they expect.

Less than two weeks before the event went live, Somersault hosted the two main contributors and presenters in their covid-secure safe shoot studio:

A specially created back drop set leveraged the Console Connect brand identity (a design look and feel conceived and developed by Somersault’s in house design team).

The presentation was captured and recorded in under two hours by Somersault’s socially distanced, sanitised and face covered production crew. The following day saw the edit completed, including the development and inclusion of opening and closing graphics, on brand titles to introduce the speakers, addition of charts and diagrams that accompany the presentation, and a watermark logo in the top corner of the screen:

The Console Connect Marketing and Events teams are delighted with the outcome, which went live at the AfricaCom 2020 Virtual Event in the second week of November. Early engagement statistics suggest this will be the first of many new ways of approaching Virtual Events with the physical calendar already looking unlikely for the first half of 2021.
