Sport England Use Series of Films to Showcase Disability Sport

We recently completed a series of films with Sport England to showcase their investment in disability sport projects all over the country. Our team set up shoots in three locations, working with Henshaws Blind Football team in Newcastle and the Instructability and Wheels for Wellbeing projects, both based in London. The brief was to create a story through a series of short films that illustrated Sport England’s significant investment in disability sport. The other key objectives were to show the variety of activities available and the impact of Sport England funding on individuals and entire projects. The Somersault team came up with a concept that used GoPro cameras, interviews and dynamic camera work to show fast paced sporting action, whilst only revealing the fact that participants were disabled at the end of each film. This made for a powerful and emotive set of stories covering cycling, football and personal training. In post the team also added subtitles for disabled viewers. Eleanor Lambert, Sport England’s Senior Brand & Digital Communications Manager, commented: “We wanted to create a series of impactful films to show some of the great disability sport projects that Sport England is involved with. Somersault’s creative concept really hit the brief and the films have been extremely well received across all our channels.” Take a look at all three films below!
